Silent Night

by Joseph Mohr

Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and Child.
Holy Infant, so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night,
Shepherds quake at the sight;
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born!

Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love’s pure light;
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.

Silent night, holy night
Wondrous star, lend thy light;
With the angels let us sing,
Alleluia to our King;
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born!

  1. hi Jackie! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I didn't realize you had one. Hope you had a good Christmas also. Thank you for the picture of your family. I meant to send cards and forgot. This year was crazy for me. Anyway, Silent Night is one of my favorite Christmas carols. My girls SS class shared the history of it at our church Christmas party and I recently read an article about the bishop who translated it into English being buried here in our area. See you next week!
